Almond Milk as a Substitute for Cow’s Milk (Dairy)?

Oh yes! Almond milk is an excellent alternative for someone who is trying to stay away from dairy.

It works well in cooking, baking, for cereals, in your morning coffee, and most importantly it works wonderfully in smoothies!

And no, you will not be able to taste a difference. Exchanging cow’s milk for almond milk will not change the consistency of your recipes nor will it change the taste, richness, texture…you name it! Milk made from almonds works just as well if not better!

Like with anything we like to give you both sides of the story. Almond milk is an excellent choice; however, if you have an allergy or intolerance to nuts beware; because, this milk is made from nuts.

Strawberry Kiwi Smoothie

½ cup almond milk

3 strawberries, capped

½ cup yogurt, vanilla

1 to 2 kiwis, peeled

1 ½ tsp honey

A squeeze of orange

1 cup of ice

Cherry Banana Almond-Milk-Smoothie

1 banana, frozen – if you do not use a frozen banana add a cup of ice!

1 cup cherries, pitted

1 cup almond milk

¼ cup yogurt, vanilla

Chocolate Banana Almond Milk Smoothie

1 cup almond milk

½ cup yogurt, vanilla

1 tbsp cacao powder

1 banana, frozen – if you do not use a frozen banana add a cup of ice!

2 tbsp peanut butter
