Goji Berry Smoothie

Have you ever tried a goji berry in a smoothie? They work great as a meal-replacement because of the protein, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants they provide.

This kind of berry has the unique ability to keep things interesting in your concoctions as well as wonderfully healthy.

Tips for Goji Berry Smoothies

  • If you want a chewy-like smoothie, once you've finished blending your smoothie just drop a handful of goji-berries into your blender for only a few seconds. This will leave the berries partly whole and slightly chewy.
  • If you don’t want to be able to tell the goji-berries are in your smoothie, just through them in with the rest of your ingredients and blend until you see no specks. This will give you a smooth smoothie, but will also give you the health benefits of goji berries.

Protein Additives

Adding quality sources of protein to your smoothie has the ability to turn it into a complete meal – which would be ideal for a nice breakfast smoothie! Here are our recommended sources of protein:

Hemp Protein Powder – is high in protein, health omega 3 fats and fiber. That is why we call hemp seed the triple deluxe…protein, omega 3’s, fiber…sounds good to us!

Sun Warrior Protein Powder – with supergreens and active vitamins and minerals this protein powder is a great raw organic option that taste delicious, but will also give you energy. Sun Warrior has two options’ they have a warrior blend as well as a superfood protein. We have used both and think they make equally great protein smoothies.

Vega Protein Powder – this is a clean plant-based protein with good wholesome nutrition. Natural, quality ingredients will keep your healthy active lifestyle yummy. Vega has many different types of protein powder, (sport protein, and protein one) but for everyday life we use the Vega ONE which comes in all different flavors. (our favorite is chocolate)

Now, we don’t recommend that you use “cheap” (and by cheap we mean bad quality) sources of protein (powders) why? Because of the artificial ingredients. They are processed with heat and certain methods that don’t protect the protein molecules; therefore you get an inferior quality.

Protein is important to our bodies and consuming “bad quality” can do more harm than good. That is why we recommend natural complete forms of protein for optimal health.
