Honey Smoothie! It’s so Irresistible!

Honey Smoothie Recipes! Oh yes, delicious! If you have a smoothie that needs a little help, add a touch of honey to your blender and that will definitely brighten it up!

How to Use Honey in a Smoothie

Always start by adding just a little. The biggest mistake people make is just “dumping” it in the blender.

Take the time to measure the honey out by teaspoons or tablespoons adding 1 or 2 of them to your smoothie.

Remember, with honey…a little bit goes a long way! Honey is very sweet; therefore, if does not require a lot of it to alter the taste of your drink.

Natural Sweetener (Honey) vs. Processed Sugar

What’s the difference? They are both sugars, right? Yes, both of these sweeteners contain glucose and fructose, but the nutrient levels for these two are different. Why? Well, check it out below:

Processed Sugar – processed cane sugar has gone through the manufacturing process; therefore, the proteins, enzymes and organic acids are destroyed. Table sugar is harder for the body to digest; because, it does not contain its own enzymes...it has to use the stomach’s enzymes to properly digest. Since it does not contain its own nutrients, table sugar ends up drawing upon the body’s nutrients to metabolize things the way it should.

Honey – raw honey is a much better choice than table sugar any day of the week. Unlike processed sugar, honey carries with it, its own set of nutrients making it slightly easier for the body to digest. Honey contains many different vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that are essential for a healthy immune system.

Is There Such a Thing as: Too Much Honey?

Yes, there is. We all know that too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. Moderation is the key, even with healthy stuff. If you have any questions about anything, always be sure to consult your doctor first.
