We love kale recipes, but sadly they can be hard to come by sometimes, because few people in this world have the imagination to get out there and try something new. So, we have put together a collection of kale recipes just for you!

Health Benefits of Kale

Did you know that kale has a couple different nicknames, a few being…”the queen of greens” “the nutritional powerhouse” If you really want a nutrient dense food, then kale is a fantastic option!

High in Iron – kale is loaded with iron, per calorie, kale has more iron than beef – WOW!

Iron is an essential part of good health, it helps to transport oxygen to various parts of the body, thus promoting good cell growth, aiding in live function and the production of red blood cells.

Antioxidants – everybody needs the proper amount antioxidants in their system.

They help to fight against the damage done to one’s body by free radicals – which are cancer causing substances. Kale contains two important antioxidants: carotenoids and flavonoids, which the human body can greatly benefit from.

Aids in Digestion – one cup of kale has 5 grams of fiber. That’s a lot of fiber for such a small amount of food, and guess what…you can hide it in a smoothie!

Fiber aids the body in proper digestion and helps it to eliminate harmful toxins by carrying them out of the system.

High in Vitamins A, C and K – vitamin A is great for your vision and is also helpful in maintaining good skin. Vitamin C, is a powerful antioxidant that is very supportive of the immune system. Vitamin K, contains a protein that strengthens our bones and supports normal bone health, it's also very helpful in supporting the nervous system as a whole.

One of our Favorite Kale Recipes

Have you ever had kale chips? We love them! They are a great alternative if you want something different or if you're just tired of the same old potato chip.

These taste little morsels can be used the same way regular chips are used, just switch them out! This recipe is the basic down to earth recipe that's simple with very few seasonings, so feel free to add whatever your taste buds will enjoy!

Baked Kale Chips

You will need:

3 – 4 leaves of kale

1 teaspoon of salt

1 tablespoon of olive oil


1) Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. You can line a non insulated cookie sheet with parchment paper to make the clean-up easier (this is optional)

2) With a knife carefully cut the stems away from the leaves and tear into bite size pieces and be sure to wash thoroughly and dry thoroughly

3) Drizzle the kale with olive oil and sprinkle with the salt

4) You bake until the edges are brown, but not burnt – usually ends up being somewhere between 10-15 minutes depending on how hot your oven gets

*we usually like to add some garlic salt to give the chips a little bite and to add to the flavoring.

Kale Smoothie Recipes

Kale smoothie

2 cup milk- you can also use almond milk

1 handful of berries, your choice (strawberries, blueberries etc)

1 ½ frozen banana

1 tbsp honey

1 large handful kale (frozen or fresh)


Blend together and enjoy!

Orange, Kale and Banana Smoothie

2 bananas (frozen if you want a thick texture)

1 cup fresh kale

1 cup orange juice

½ cup water

1 ½ cups frozen mango


Add you liquid first then blend fruits and kale until smooth.

Banana Kale Smoothie

2 cups chopped kale

1 banana

1 tsp maple syrup

1 tbsp flax seeds

½ cup milk - you can also use almond milk


Blend until smooth and enjoy!

Strawberry Kale Smoothie

2 cups chopped kale

1 cup strawberries

1 tbsp honey

1 cup milk - you can also use almond milk


Blend until smooth and enjoy!

*and remember kale recipes are easy to improvise on so be sure to make them our own!

Orange, Kale and Kiwi Smoothie

1 orange, peeled

1 kiwi

2 cups kale

½ cup water

Ice if desired and add as needed


Blend until smooth.
