Oatmeal Smoothie for Breakfast? Absolutely!

With a dash of cinnamon and a few apples, yes, an oatmeal smoothie will make a delicious breakfast.

What kind of Oats do I use?

Excellent question! We recommend the old fashion rolled oats over the instant oats for two reasons. They are less processed and better for you. The instant oats will work if that’s all you have, but rolled oats are definitely better for you.

Now, we don’t recommend steel cut oats for your smoothies; because, they don’t blend well to make an even texture.

These Smoothies Can to Great “On-The-Go” Meals

If you often end up rushing out the door and don’t have time to fix yourself a decent breakfast, try making it the night before. So all you have to do is grab your to-go cup out of the refrigerator and go! Blend it up the night before so you’re all ready to grab and go – a complete meal in a glass!

Best Oatmeal Smoothie Additives

Chia Seeds – if you are looking for a thicker texture. Chia seeds will definitely do the job. Not only will they thicken up your smoothie, but they will add a tremendous healthy kick! Omega 3’s, iron, potassium etc… yes this little superfood can multi-task.

Peanut Butter – this is an excellent addition to just about any smoothie. Peanut Butter will add texture, flavor and uniqueness. But just before you add it make sure that your ingredients are things that will blend well with PB such as: apples, banana etc…

Cinnamon – spice up your smoothie with a little bit of cinnamon. Eating cinnamon through a smoothie is an effective way to consume this not only yummy but healthy spice.
