Skin – The antioxidants found in an orange help to repair unhealthy cells that have been damaged by free radicals it does this so that your body can produce virbrant and radiant looking skin from the inside out.

Stomach Ulcer – again, the oranges vitamin C content comes into play! This vitamin is a water-soluble vitamin that strengthens blood vessels, aids in healing wounds as well as strengthens the immune system.

Vitamin C rich-foods have the potential to improve your immune system, thus helping to prevent future or additional stomach ulcers.

Orange Tips

  • Once you have juiced your orange be sure to consume the juice in a reasonable amount of time. Vitamin C is easily destroyed when exposed to air. For optimal nutrients consume your fresh orange juice within one to two hours of juicing.
  • Oranges can be stored at room temperature and still be good for a couple of weeks, or for a longer shelf life, store in the refrigerator.
  • When buying oranges at your grocery store choose ones that are heavy and firm - this indicates that they have an excellent juice content.
  • To get more juice out of yours oranges. Put your orange on the counter and roll it under the palm of your hand while appling pressure. Doing this open the vessels in the orange to release even more juice. For best result do this with an orange that is at room temperature.


Oranges have many health benefits, but like with anything – “everything in moderation”.

Excessive consumption of any type of citrus juice can pull calcium from the body’s system. Remember moderation is the key.

Orange Smoothie Recipes

OJ Smoothie

1 cup orange juice

½ yogurt (commonly used is vanilla)

1 banana – frozen


Blend in your blend until smooth and enjoy!

Orange Pineapple Smoothie

1 frozen banana

3 tbsp pineapple concentrate or a couple chunks of pineapple

4 tbsp water

1/3 cup milk you can also use almond milk

½ cup yogurt


Blend in your blender until smooth and enjoy!

Orange Raspberry Smoothie

2 cups milk

2 cups yogurt

2 cups fresh raspberries

1 cup orange juice – fresh is best

1 tbsp flax seed oil *optional

1 cup ice


Blend in your blender until smooth and enjoy!

Orange Mango Smoothie

1 cup ice

1 cup fresh mango

1 banana

½ cup milk - you can also use almond milk

½ cup fresh orange juice

½ tbsp honey

2 slices of oranges – peeled


Blend in your blender until smooth and enjoy!

Berry Orange Smoothie

¼ cup berries of your choice

4 oz milk - you can also use almond milk

6 oz orange juice

Ice as needed
