A Few Health Benefits of Pear

Dietary Fiber – a medium sized pear consist of about 3.1 grams of dietary fiber per 100 grams. Regularly eating foods that have a high fiber content is important for the proper elimination of harmful toxins. Fiber helps promote good colon health.

Eye Health – lutien is found in pear at 110 micrograms per raw, medium sized pear. Lutien is an antioxidant found in the lens and retina of the eye. So eating foods that have a good lutein content can boost eye health.

Cell Health – potassium is an electrolyte and mineral that helps to keep the fluids of the body in check or in balance. This mineral is crucially important for all of the proper functioning of different cells in different organs.

Immunity Booster – some people, when they feel a cold coming on, will actually drink pear juice because it’s high vitamin C content effectively fight colds by fighting free radicals and helping to keep them at bay.

Pears are a Good Substitute for Bananas

4 strawberries

1 cup spinach

1 cup milk, you can also you almond milk

1 cup ice

1 banana

¼ nut (raw, cashews or almonds)

2 pears, cored

½ cup milk, you can also use almond milk

1 cup ice

1 tbsp flax seed oil *optional

Pear and Cinnamon Smoothie

1 tsp cinnamon

1 pear, cored

1 apple, seeded and cored

1 cup ice

Pears in a Breakfast Smoothie

1 cup granola

1 cup milk, you can also use almond milk

1 pear, cored

½ banana

Ice as needed

1 tbsp honey

2 pears, cored

1 cup ice
