Looking for Awesome Protein Smoothie Recipes?

Protein smoothie recipes couldn’t be a better fit for someone who is looking for an energy shot!

Smoothies are a great addition to an already healthy diet, especially if you want to try something new, add your own twist to it and you’ve a unique recipe – it’s fun to experiment.

The Key to a Delicious Protein Smoothie Recipe

Let’s be honest everybody has their own quirky taste, and then there’s the texture preferences. To try to satisfy everyone we have come up with a list of solutions, check them out below:

If your Protein Shake is:

Too Thick: add a little more liquid to your blender or a fruit that has a high water content, such as: pineapple, watermelon – whatever seems to blend well with your recipe

Too Thin: ice cubes are famous for this. To fix up a soupy smoothie add a few ice cubes or some frozen fruit – this will quickly turn it into a nice thick creamy smoothie depending on how much you add.

Protein Powder Sticks to the sides of my Blender: this is a common problem, but there is a solution. While you are blending your smoothie take your protein powder and slowly pour it into the blender, and it will disappear into your drink with no clumps.

Not Sweet Enough: a banana is a classic for this, because it is sweet and because it will give it a nice creamy texture. Honey is also another option; just a tablespoon will do wonders.

Protein Powders We Recommend

iherb.com

We are fans of plant based protein so we will share with you two of our favorites that we have had great success with.

Vega Protein Powder – this is a clean plant-based protein with good wholesome nutrition. Natural, quality ingredients will keep you healthy active lifestyle yummy. Vega has many different types of protein powder, (sport protein, and protein one) but for everyday life we use the Vega ONE which comes in all different flavors. (our favorite is chocolate)

Sun Warrior Protein Powder – with supergreens and active vitamins and minerals this protein powder is a great raw organic option that taste delicious but will also give you energy. Sun Warrior has two options as well; they have a warrior blend and a superfood protein. We have used both and think they make equally great protein smoothies.
