Smoothie Tips for Pumpkin Recipes

Pie Pumpkins – always use pie pumpkins for your recipes versus the regular pumpkins. We do this because the larger ones are a lot more bitter and tend to have less flavor; while, the smaller ones are sweeter not to mention the texture is way better.

Ice – when making these recipes, ice is always a great addition. It has the ability to give your smoothie a creamy/thick texture as well as the chilled effect that everyone loves.

Pumpkin Smoothie Additives

Flax Seed Oil is high in omega 3 fatty acids. Just add a tablespoon of this oil and you’ll have had your healthy fats for the day, and the best part is you won’t be able to taste it!

Coconut Oil – when mixed with a slightly colder substance coconut oil will harden so if you’re looking for a thicker smoothie, coconut oil can definitely help you get there.

Maca Powder is an excellent food to add to your smoothie. It’s extremely nutrient-dense, packed with vitamins, essential minerals, healthy fats and amino acids. This powder is a real energy kicker so much so that you won’t be reaching for your coffee in the mornings.
