5 Mild Vegetables you can add to Your Smoothie

When you start to add vegetables to your smoothie, you will definitely want to start “mild”; because, you don’t want to end up with a strong, bitter or grassy tasting smoothie!

Check out some of our favorite mild/green vegetables that we like to add, below:

Spinach – you can start by adding 1 cup of spinach to your smoothie, and then work your way up!

Spinach is a green with a mild flavor that can easily be over powered by a more dominate flavored fruit. Not to mention this green is “phytonutrient” packed! Loaded with vitamins: C, A, and K – oh yeah!

Kale – is another mild green with outstanding health benefits. Packed with antioxidants and iron, this leafy green is an excellent addition to any smoothie!

Mushrooms – seem like an odd thing to add to a smoothie, but they are delicious! Their vitamin D and antioxidant capacity helps boost the immune system and helps strengthen the body’s ability to fight diseases.

If you do not want many, just add one or two to your blender to see how you like it, and you can “up it” from there! (A few different kinds of mushrooms are: shiitake, reishi and reishi)

Zucchini – kin to the yellow squash, this vegetable blends well in a smoothie. Zucchini is high in manganese, antioxidants and fiber. The fiber content in a zucchini helps promote a healthy digestive tract, which is very important for overall colon health!

Carrots – not only are they mild, but they add a nice sweet touch to any smoothie. Carrots are full of antioxidants which are essential for the body. Blend them up well in your blender, and you will not even know they are there.

Kale Blueberry Smoothie

¼ cup yogurt

1 cup kale

1 cup blueberries

1 cup almond milk

1 cup ice

Banana Spinach Smoothie

1 banana

1 cup spinach

1 cup water or almond milk

1 cup ice

Zucchini Banana Smoothie

½ zucchini or one whole small zucchini

1 banana

1 apple, cored

1 cup almond milk

1 cup ice

Berry Mushroom Smoothie

4 strawberries

2 to 3 mushrooms – make sure you thoroughly clean them

½ cup blueberries

1 cup water or almond milk

1 cup ice

Tropical Carrot Smoothie

1 mango, pitted

4 to 5 baby carrots, or 1 whole (large) carrot

¼ cup pineapple, fresh is best!

½ banana

1 cup water

1 cup ice
