Why smoothies? Smoothies are an excellent addition to anyone's diet!
You’ve probably had smoothies before: some are packed with fat, sugar and calories and some are packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
Here we like the ones packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Below we will explain why our love for smoothies is so great! Enjoy!
It may seem complicated, but it’s really quite simple. Fruits and vegetables contain fiber, right? So, to get the full benefits out of the fiber in your produce it is necessary to blend them up in a high-powdered or quality blender.
Doing this breaks down the internal molecular inside the produce, thus releasing more nutrients and fiber that would otherwise pass through you.
You might ask: why wouldn’t I get the same amount of nutrients if I just ate the produce myself rather than blending it up…my body will digest it?
Well, eating raw fruits and vegetables are good for you, but most of the time chewing doesn’t cut it. When we chew our food, yes we get nutrients out of it, but most of the time we don’t chew it enough to fully breakdown the internal molecular.
Have you ever heard the saying: “chew before you swallow” well it’s true. When we scarf down our veggies without chewing them thoroughly, you will still get nutrients from them, but your body will have to work harder because it has to break down the produce in order to digest it.
Where if you blended it up in a blender you make the job for your digestive tract a whole lot easier because the blender as already “chewed your food for you” this allows your body to focus on absorbing nutrients instead of breaking down the produce.
We use a high powdered blender to blend up our smoothies because (as we were talking above) a strong –horse-power-motor will easily break down the internal molecular which is essential for optimal absorption of nutrients.
It doesn’t necessarily have to a high powered blender just as long as the motor has at least one or more horsepower to it. Anything less than this will not do an adequate job at blending your produce and will not effectively break down the cellular levels in the produce that makes a host of nutrients available to your body that would normally just pass right through your digestive tract.
